TOMS Aerosol Products: Volcanic Ash

Volcanic aerosols or ash are widely studied by many instruments. Data from TOMS are used for this research as well, providing observations of all major volcanic events throughout the period of the dataset. Most major eruptions spew enough material in the form of ash to have a global atmospheric impact. For more information on the detection of volcanic ash and SO2 using TOMS, see The Volcanic SO2 and Ash Home Page.
