Nimbus-7 TOMS Ozone CD-ROM Information

Version 8 CD-ROMS containing ozone data are now available. The entire Nimbus-7 TOMS ozone dataset (1978-1993) has been placed onto a 2 CD-ROM set. Disk #1 contains the gridtoms data from 1978-1987 while disk #2 contains the gridtoms data from 1988-1993. Disk #2 also includes overpass data, monthly zonal means, zonal means, and daily GIF images. GIF image viewers are provided for PCs running Windows and for systems running the Mac operating system.

Known Problems with the Version 8 Ozone CD-ROM (OPT_004a and OPT_004b)

1. The IDL program "CDPIX.PRO" is missing a sub-routine. Download the sub-routine, make_ctb , and add to the program.
2. The documentation for VisuAnalyze for the Macintosh is incorrect in stating that the program works without a Floating Point Unit (FPU). If you are using a Mac without a FPU (ex. Powerbook, Quadra 630, etc), you should install Software FPU to enable the software to run properly on your machine.
