Objectives: the student will be able to:
-analyze TOMS ozone data to determine how the ozone hole changes
-critically analyze TOMS ozone data to determine if the ozone hole over Antarctica is getting worse
Summary: This project is designed so students will investigate the specifics of the ozone hole. The ozone hole over Antarctica changes many ways:
(1) It moves. On a daily basis, the minimum ozone value moves.
(2) The minimum ozone value changes every year. From 1979-1996, it progressively got worse.
(3) The ozone hole changes in size every year. From 1982-1995, its size increased by a factor of 12!!!
